About Us

Founded in December 1999, Viacor, Inc. is a development company dedicated to pioneering catheter-based techniques for the treatment of heart valve disease contributing to congestive heart failure (CHF).

Viacor currently focuses on percutaneous therapy for mitral valve regurgitation in heart failure patients.

The company's investors include individuals and venture capital partners.

Surgeons and co-founders William Cohn, M.D., A. Marc Gillinov, M.D., and John Liddicoat, M.D. all remain intensively involved in guiding the ongoing development of the Viacor PTMA™ device and method.

William T Hayes, Jr.

Vice President of Finance and Administration

William T. Hayes, Jr. joined Viacor in 2002. Prior to joining Viacor, William was the Controller of TransMedics, Inc. Previously, he held various finance and consulting positions at Boston area high tech firms. William has a Master of Business Administration from Bentley College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire.

Christopher D Hutchins

Vice President of Engineering

Christopher Hutchins joined Viacor in 2004. Prior to joining Viacor, Christopher was Project Manager at Philips Medical Systems. Previously, he was employed by Agilent Technologies and Hewlett-Packard Company. Christopher has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science summa cum laude in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire.

Stanley B Kyi

Vice President of Research and Development

Stanley Kyi joined Viacor in 2008. Prior to joining Viacor, Stanley was the Director of Mechanical Development at TransMedics. Previously, he was employed by Agilent Technologies and Hewlett-Packard Company. Stanley has Master and Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

David S Marks, MD

Chief Medical Officer

David Marks joined Viacor in 2005. He is also currently the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at the Medical College of Wisconsin. David has a Bachelor of Science from Stanford University in Human Biology, a Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Francisco, and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Jonathan M Rourke

Chief Executive Officer

Jonathan Rourke joined Viacor in 2002. Prior to joining Viacor, Jonathan was Vice President, Research and Development at TransMedics Incorporated, and Vice President, Research and Development at EndoTex Interventional Systems. Previously, he was employed by Hewlett-Packard Company. Jonathan began his career at Arthur D. Little and the Draper Laboratory. Jonathan has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Katharine M Stohlman

Vice President of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs

Katharine Stohlman joined Viacor in 2002. Prior to joining Viacor, Katharine held a global executive position at Agilent Technologies. Previously, she was employed by Hewlett-Packard Company. Katharine began her career with Supercon, Inc. Katharine has a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science & Biomedical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
